When Will Season 5 of the Expanse Release Date: Confirmation by Prime Videos

It looks like fans of The Expanse will be getting an early Christmas present this year: all-new episodes of the science fiction drama will be available on Amazon Prime Video starting this month!

That’s right, the cult classic series will return to streaming in December for its fifth season, in which Marco Inaros wage war against the Inners “for a century of oppression and injustice.”

The saga isn’t over yet, as Netflix has ordered a sixth and final season to bring the epic narrative to a close. However, one original cast member will be absent from the last season, which will air in 2019.

Following charges made against him over the summer, Cas Anvar will not reprise his role as Alex Kamal, captain of the Rocinante, in the last chapter of the series.

Here’s all you need to know about the upcoming revival of the cult classic.

When Will Season 5 of The Expanse Premiere on Television?

The Expanse season five will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Wednesday, December 16th, it has been confirmed.

As demonstrated by a tweet from series director Breck Eisner, filming for the fifth season of The Expanse was completed in February 2020, allowing the show to escape any significant delays as a result of the coronavirus outbreak in the United States.

What Is the Best Way to Watch the Expanse Season 5?

The next set of episodes of The Expanse will be accessible on Amazon Prime Video in the United Kingdom, just as they were for season four.

Those interested in watching will need to sign up for Amazon Prime, which costs £7.99 per month and is available worldwide. Become a member of Amazon Prime Video.

What Can We Expect From Season 5 of The Expanse?

After the solar system has been colonized, The Expanse follows the crew of the Rocinante as they uncover a conspiracy that threatens the fragile peace of the galaxy as well as humanity’s existence in a drama that isn’t afraid to become politically charged.

The fifth book in the Expanse series, Nemesis Games, will be brought to life in season five of the show. Among the themes explored in the novel are an interplanetary land rush, the disintegration of old power systems, and Rocinante’s quest to return home amid the creation of a new global order.

Even though even the authors of the novels are impressed, the episode should be titled “Naomi Nagata is the Biggest Badass in Space,” according to a tweet from the show’s creators.

Who Is a Member of the Cast of the Expanse?

Among the members of the primary cast of The Expanse are Steven Strait, who plays current Rocinante commander Jim Holden, and Cas Anvar, who portrays Alex Kamal, the ship’s pilot. Also expected to return are Dominique Tripper and Wes Chatham, who will serve as members of the Rocinante’s technical crew.

The Expanse scene

Thomas Jane, who starred in the Punisher, will likely make a few cameo appearances as Detective Joe Miller, and he will also direct an episode.

Torchwood’s Burn Gorman may return as well, having joined the ensemble during season four.

According to Deadline, Keon Alexander (Impulse), Nadine Nicole (Casual), and Jasai Chase Owens (The Deuce) have all been upgraded to series regulars for the fifth season of The Deuce, which premieres on September 14.

Alexander portrayed Marco Inaros, the charismatic (in an anarchic kind of manner) Belter faction leader and father of Naomi’s estranged son Filip, who was played by Owens. Alexander and Owens both appeared in the film. Nicole will return to her recurring role as Claire Mao/Melba Koh in the upcoming season.

Nancy, played by Lily Gao, who has just been named Secretary-General of the United Nations, will also be back in season 5.
