Three new League Champions were also hinted at by Riot as well as a Wild Rift esports championship.

Riot failed to provide any information on the launching of Wild Rift in the South Asian and Indian markets. Despite the game’s release in 2020 and 2021 in many regions throughout the world, the subcontinent is yet to see it. Similarly, there was no mention of a console version of Wild Rift throughout the webcast.

Changes to the League of Legends Gameplay for Season 2022

An overview of the preseason adjustments was provided by executive producer Jeremy “Brightmoon” Lee, who discussed the addition of new mythic and legendary items, improvements to keystones, the introduction of objective bounties, and the introduction of two new dragons, Hextech and Chemtech.

During a discussion of the new improvements planned for this year, Brightmoon stated that Riot was a firm believer in the importance of identity customization, adding that the changes already implemented in Patch 12.1 for Ranked Crests and borders were a step in that direction. Additionally, he described the concept of Challenges, which would measure a player’s progress on the rift through varied challenges, allowing them to rank up from Iron to Challenger, each with its leaderboard. Players would also be able to display their achievements in the game lobby and on the loading screen if they participated in challenges.

Rivalry points (LP) and matchmaking rating (MMR) will be kept close in ranked matching, making it easier to rise through the ranks.
