Bridgerton, a glitzy period drama (with a lot more sex and controversy) premiered on Netflix in late 2020, and it was fantastic. The TV series had us all captivated on Lady Whistledown’s account of the events from beginning to end, which was further fueled by the second season, which premiered in March 2022.
The Duke and I, by Juila Quinn, inspired the first series, while ‘The Viscount Who Loved Me,’ by Quinn, inspired the second series. There are eight books in total, so we’ll be able to keep binge-watching Bridgerton for a lot longer. With Netflix already confirming season 3 and 4, here’s everything we know so far about Bridgerton season 3 and when it will premiere.

Bridgerton Season 3 Plot
Bridgerton season 3 will focus on Benedict Bridgerton and his search for Sophie Beckett, a girl he meets at a masquerade party, if the series follows the plot of the Bridgerton book series. Benedict falls for Sophie, the illegitimate daughter of the Earl of Penwood, in the third novel, titled ‘An Offer From A Gentleman.’
When the earl dies, his wife Araminta discovers that keeping step-daughter Sophie under her roof will earn her more money, so she puts her to work and keeps her there. Sophie’s life is suddenly turned upside down by an accidental encounter with Benedict at a masquerade party.
Shonda Rhimes, on the other hand, told Entertainment Tonight that the upcoming seasons will “not necessarily go in order.” Given that the storylines of Bridgerton seasons 1 and 2 strayed slightly from the books, it’s probable that season 3 will do the same.
Bridgerton season 3 might potentially begin teasing the fan-favorite romantic pairing of Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, which is the subject of the fourth Bridgerton book. To find out, we’ll have to remain tuned!
Is There Going to Be a Fourth Season of Bridgerton on Netflix?
Yes. Season 4 of Bridgerton was confirmed by Netflix at the same time as season 3, indicating that there would be plenty of drama to come.
When Will Bridgerton Season 3 Be Released?
However, no date has been set for the third season of Bridgerton. We’re hoping to see it in the first half of 2023, but that remains to be seen. Season 2 of Bridgerton premiered on March 25, 2022, and season 1 premiered on December 25, 2021.
Season 3 may thus debut anytime between the end of 2022 and the first part of 2023, though we think 2023 is most plausible. The show’s producer, Shonda Rhimes, told Entertainment Tonight that writing has begun: “We got a little imaginative, so we’re already working on season 3…. That is already underway, as you will see. Allow time to pass.”
