Resul Pookutty, who won an Oscar for his sound design work and stirred up a storm after he referred to SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR as a “homosexual love story,” has been criticized for his comment by Shobu Yarlagadda, the producer of Baahubali.
Resul Pookutty won the Oscar. The producer expressed his dismay at the fact that somebody with his achievements could’stoop so low.
RRR is a work of fiction that takes place during the pre-independence era of the 1920s and is based on the real-life heroic deeds and revolutionary activities of two historical figures: Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem.
Jr NTR played the role of Bheem, while Ram Charan portrayed the title character. The film had a production budget of approximately 300 crore rupees, but it grossed more than 1,200 crore rupees all over the world during its run in theaters.
While responding to a tweet by actor and writer Munish Bharadwaj on Monday, Pookutty referred to RRR as a “homosexual love story.”
The producer of Baahubali, Shobu, posed the question, “Even if RRR had been a homosexual love story, what’s wrong with it?”

“I don’t think that RRRMovie is a gay love story as you say, but even if it was, is it a bad thing to have a gay love story? How can you possibly defend the use of this?
He wrote that he was extremely disappointed that someone of your accomplishments can stoop so low!” In order to defend himself, Resul explained that all he did was quote an article that referred to RRR as a homosexual love story.
“I wholeheartedly concur. There is not the slightest thing wrong with it even if it is. All I did was quote my friend and the banter that was already available to the public, and I didn’t say anything else.
There is no question of stooping involved here. It is not necessary for you to take it seriously. Shobu, I apologize to any and all stakeholders for any offense that may have been caused.

Nevertheless, Alia previously stated that her part in the film is “small but essential,” which was mentioned multiple times throughout the promotion of the film.
However, the winner of the Academy Award explained in a later statement that he was merely paraphrasing the comments that have been made by viewers all over the world.
