Along with Keith Duffy, Michael Graham, Shane Lynch, and Stephen Gately, he made his debut in 1993 as the co-lead singer (with Gately) of the Irish group Boyzone.

Childhood of Ronan Keating
Keating was born on March 3, 1977, as the youngest of five children. He attended St. Fintan’s High School in Bayside, Dublin, and County Meath as a child.
Marie Keating, his mother, was a mobile hairdresser, and Gerry Keating, his father, was a truck driver. His younger sister is Linda, and his three older brothers are Ciarán, Gerard, and Gary.

Ronan Keating travelled to Rome in October 2005, not long after joining Christian Aid and the Trade Justice Campaign, to accept his appointment as a UN Goodwill Ambassador through the Food and Agricultural Organization.
In order to raise money for Cancer Research, Keating ran the London Marathon on April 13, 2008, finishing in a personal best time of 3 hours, 59 minutes.
Additionally, he has traversed Ireland’s whole length twice while raising money for the Marie Keating Foundation, which is now associated with Cancer Research in the UK.
The foundation organizes charity balls and other events every year to raise money to keep their mobile units operating.
