Damien Chazelle is the author and director of the upcoming American historical drama film Babylon. Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie are among a big ensemble cast in this movie, which is set in the late 1920s as Hollywood made the switch from silent to talkies. In addition to acting in a supporting role, Tobey Maguire also serves as executive producer.
Babylon Storyline
The movie Babylon is a tribute to the good old days of Hollywood. The period drama takes place in the 1920s and is based on first-look footage of glamorous parties in the entertainment business.
The movie will be a period drama set in the 1920s when silent films were being replaced by talkies. We don't know exactly what the plot is yet, but we do know that the movie will bring back to life a few very famous names from the past.
In this amazing project, famous people from the industry, like actress Clara Bow and writer Elinor Glyn, will be re-created.
We don't know which actor will play which role, but we do know that Diego will play a Mexican boy who wants to make it big in Hollywood.
The director's other movies have all been about music, but this one is a period drama set in the silent film era. That too with famous people like Brad Pitt in it.

Development
In July 2019, it was announced that Damien Chazelle's next project would be a period drama set in Hollywood's “golden age.”
The most likely company to buy the project was Lionsgate, and Emma Stone and Brad Pitt were in the running to star. In November, Paramount Pictures bought worldwide rights to the project.
Stone and Pitt were still looking at roles. Pitt confirmed that he would be in the movie in January 2020. He said that it would take place when the silent film started to have sound.
He will play John Gilbert, an actor, and director. Stone left the movie in December 2020 because of scheduling problems.
Margot Robbie is now in talks to replace her, and Li Jun Li was also cast. In March 2021, Robbie would be confirmed, and Jovan Adepo and Diego Calva would also join.
In June, Katherine Waterston, Max Minghella, Flea, Samara Weaving, Rory Scovel, Lukas Haas, Eric Roberts, P.J. Byrne, Damon Gupton, Olivia Wilde, Spike Jonze, Phoebe Tonkin, and Tobey Maguire, who is also an executive producer for the movie, joined the cast.

Who is directing the Babylon film?
Damien Chazelle is directing Babylon, which is his first movie since First Man, a biopic about Neil Armstrong that came out in 2018.
Chazelle also directed Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling in the 2016 Oscar-winning musical La La Land. It made Chazelle, who was 32 at the time, the youngest person to win an Oscar for best director.
When does “Babylon” come out?
The Paramount movie will be shown in a limited number of theatres on Christmas Day 2022, and it will be shown in all theatres on January 6, 2023.
“Babylon” has been around for a long time. When the movie was first announced in 2019, it was supposed to come out on Christmas Day 2021. But because of the pandemic, the filming in Los Angeles had to be put off, which pushed the release date back a whole year.
The filming started at the beginning of July 2021 and ended in October. Boom operator Bryan Mendoza wrote on Twitter that “Babylon” was “easily one of the hardest projects” he's worked on. He said that the crew was “unquestionably one of the best in all of Hollywood.”
No official trailer has been released yet, and the creators haven't said when the trailer will be out. But in a few interviews, the director has talked about how important this project is to them and how the audience won't be let down by it. Just hearing these words from the Oscar-winning director is enough to make us wait for the trailer.
