The Batman is an American superhero movie from 2022 that is based on the character Batman from DC Comics. People were excited about Batman before the MCU.
Even though Warner Bros. had to start and stop several times since Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy came to an end, excitement for the caped crusader from Gotham is always high among fans.
That's certainly the case with his new movie, The Batman. Matt Reeves and Peter Craig wrote and are directing The Batman, which is based on Ben Affleck's Batman from Batman v Superman and The Justice League. It's a whole new take on the character that fans saw in those movies.
There are, however, some whispers about how Reeve's version of Batman might work with Warner Bros.'s plans to keep making DC movies to compete with Marvel.
Who is in the Cast of “the Batman” and Who Else is in It?
They have all worn the cowl to play Batman: Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck have all played the role.
Matthew Reeves' new movie, which will star Robert Pattinson as Batman and Bruce Wayne, has added another actor to the cast: Robert Pattinson.
This is the second time he's played the lead in a movie that could be the start of a new series. He made his big-budget comeback in Christopher Nolan's Tenet.
No Batman movie would be complete without Bruce Wayne's best friend and butler. Andy Serkis is going to play Alfred in The Batman. Serkis and Reeves, who worked together on the recent Planet of the Apes movies, will be back together for this movie, as well. There isn't any way I know that Serkis will use mo-cap to play Alfred in the movie he's making.
In addition, Jeffrey Wright will play James Gordon, the Gotham City commissioner played by J.K. Simmons and Gary Oldman in the past.
Wright will also play Bruce Wayne. Peter Sarsgaard is set to play District Attorney Gil Colson, a possible partner for Batman in the movie.
A lot of famous Batman villains are set to appear in the new movie, The Batman. He may need all the help he can get! The Riddler, played by Paul Dano, is one of them.
The Penguin, played by Colin Farrell, is another. Catwoman, played by Zoë Kravitz, is another, but she looks more like a tenuous ally. How each of them fits into their mother is unknown right now.
Even though Farrell has said that he doesn't get as much screen time in The Batman, there's a Penguin spinoff show that's rumored to be in the works for HBO Max.
What is the Batman's Plot?
After facing off against Superman and Steppenwolf in the most current incarnation of the caped crusader, The Batman aims to get back to basics.
According to IMDb, the plot of The Batman is as follows: “In his second year of battling crime, Batman uncovers corruption in Gotham City that relates to his own family while confronting a serial murderer known as the Riddler.”
Another major narrative point revealed by the trailers is that Batman and Catwoman look to have a shaky, flirty connection in the film; a common storyline for the two characters in Batman films and comics.
The Batman is shaping up to be one of the longest superhero films ever made, with the runtime clocking in at nearly three hours.
When Will the Batman Release?
This isn't the first time The Batman has had to change its release date because of pandemics. When Robert Pattison was diagnosed with COVID-19, production had to be halted.
For a long time, The Batman was released on March 1, 2022, according to Wikipedia. If you want to see The Batman a few days early, you can see it on HBO Max.
This is called a “Fan First Premiere.” It's already possible to buy tickets for the March 1 screenings of The Batman. Tickets for the March 4 and later screenings of the movie will go on sale on Feb. 10.
Some Deleted Scene From the Batman Movie
Even though the film has only been in theaters for a few of weeks, a deleted scene from The Batman has already made its way to the internet, and it is guaranteed to generate excitement among fans.
The sequence features Robert Pattinson's Batman and Barry Keoghan's Arkham inmate (whom director Matt Reeves has confirmed is the Joker, even if he is not referred to as such). Take a look at the scene right here:
