Who Is in the Cast of Season 9 of Impractical Jokers?
Joe Gatto, James “Murr” Murray, Brian “Q” Quinn, and Sal Vulcano, longtime pals, are all slated to return for season 9. The boys have known each other since high school, when they established the Tenderloins, a successful improvement club.
They’ve earned a name for themselves in the comic circuit since then, and they co-founded Impractical Jokers. Despite the pandemic, they’re all back for more pranks and ridiculous tasks. And, as is customary, the boys’ pranks will rely heavily on unsuspecting bystanders in New York City and elsewhere.
In the past, notable guests such as Guy Fieri, Fatone, and Jeff Daniels have been in each season, but given the extra precautions that all productions are taking, it’s unclear whether season 9 will follow suit.
For the time being, TruTV is remaining mum on who might appear in the new season, although it’s safe to assume that at least one or two celebs will make an appearance over the 26-episode run.
What Is the Plot of the Show?
A typical episode consists of a series of competitive dare game in which each joker is given a thumbs up or down for his performance. At the end of the game, the joker with the most thumbs down is declared the loser and is sentenced to a “penalty.”
The games are made-up scenarios in which one joker is pushed to embarrass himself by interacting with unsuspecting members of the public while receiving orders from the other jokers who are arranging and surveying the weird scenario from behind the scenes with hidden cameras.
“You refuse – you lose,” is the most typical concept. “Scenes of grotesque stupidity among four lifelong friends who compete to embarrass each other,” the show’s opener says.
The games are unstructured and mainly reliant on improvisation. The show’s comedic themes range from witty speech to slapstick routines, with the jokers’ and audience members’ reactions serving as punchlines.

Given that the show is still airing its ninth season, there is no official release date for season 10, and truTV has remained silent. The good news is that after a year off, you can still watch new episodes weekly to satisfy your craving for amusing shenanigans.
