John Coveny, Hunt Baldwin, Christopher Chulack, Greer Shephard, and Michael M. Robin produced the show. The plot revolves around sheriff Walt Longmire.

In the books, Walt and Vic are depicted as being in a relationship, and fans of the books felt that their relationship should also be explored on television.

We later observe Vic conversing with her father about being a “woman,” the death of her child, and the incident with Walt.
