You may recall that she made headlines when she admitted to skimping on sunscreen. Or when the founder of Goop introduced a candle titled “This Smells Like My Vagina” that quickly sold out.
Yes, when it comes to Gwyneth Paltrow, her wellness philosophy can be all kinds of strange, wonderful, and occasionally unsettling, with both ardent followers and jade-egg skeptics.
This morning, Gwyneth Paltrow shared her entire wellness and beauty regimen on Instagram, recapturing the attention of the online community.
From tongue scraping to sleep strips and all of her other wellness practices, here’s what we discovered – along with what the experts think.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s Dances in the Morning
Researchers are increasingly exploring the link between dance and good mental health, with studies pointing to the psychological benefits. And for Paltrow, a dance workout with @tracyandersonoinlinestudio is exactly what she needs for a guaranteed serotonin boost.
Everyone from Alessandra Ambrosio, Victoria Beckham, and Nicole Richie to Paltrow herself is a fan of the dance technique’s unique, science-backed method. But, no matter how you do it, dancing is good for you.
Gwyneth Paltrow Swears by Sleep Strips
‘This is probably the single best wellness product I’ve found recently,’ Paltrow writes on Instagram today, referring to sleep strips. Have you heard of them? They are said to improve sleep quality and reduce snoring when worn on the mouth.

But what are the experts’ thoughts? ‘An external force promoting overnight mouth closure can cause excessive muscle tension, leading not only to wear and tear but also to bruxism,’ says physiotherapist Flavia Morellato.
‘This practice can reduce snoring because the muscles are not relaxed to the point of compressing the airways.’ Ooi also mentions that having your mouth taped shut while sleeping may cause anxiety. ‘It’s not for everyone, and a mouthguard might be a better alternative.’
She is Interested in Transcendental Meditation.
Although the benefits of meditation cannot be denied, you may be wondering how transcendental meditation differs. “Unlike mindful meditation, where you are guided to focus with texts or breathing, I find transcendental meditation to be very natural and effortless; it helps to calm the mind while celebrating its innate creativity,” Ooi explains.

‘Research indicates that frontal regions of the brain become more active during transcendental meditation, and these regions are associated with higher executive functions and moral reasoning.
EEG recordings indicate that alpha wave activity increases, which indicates relaxation and calmness, she continues. ‘During transcendental meditation, the overall coherence of brainwaves improves.
The more coherent the brain, the better its parts can communicate with one another; therefore, TM activates the entire brain and improves its ability to function as a unified whole.
Like Gwyneth Paltrow, it is simple to incorporate into your daily routine. “Sit comfortably with your eyes closed, chant a mantra for twenty minutes, and then repeat a sound/mantra silently in your head,” advises Ooi.
