Minions are male fictional yellow critters that appear in the Despicable Me franchise by Illumination. They are defined by their infantile conduct and often incomprehensible language.

The New York Times has described the Minions as “corporate icons” for Comcast since their 2013 acquisition of Illumination’s parent company NBCUniversal; comparable to Mickey Mouse for The Walt Disney Company, Bugs Bunny for Warner Bros.

Discovery, SpongeBob SquarePants for Paramount Global, and Woody Woodpecker for Universal Studios. Kevin, Stuart, and Bob are three of the most well-known minions, starring in the 2015 film Minions and its 2016 sequel, Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022).

Numerous different Minions are named throughout the franchise’s films and other media. Art director Eric Guillon, who worked on several Illumination films, designed them.

How Tall is a Minion?

The Minions are small, yellow, pill-shaped creatures. Once believed to be between one-third and one-half the height of humans, their actual height was eventually determined to be 3 feet 7 inches (1.1 meter’s).

Characteristics

The Minions are tiny yellow capsule-shaped creatures with grey glasses. They are depicted as being one-third to one-half the height of humans, but it was later revealed that they are 3 feet 7 inches (1.1 m) tall.

They have one or two eyes, with brown irises almost always (except for Bob, who has one green and one brown eye). Aside from the number and color of eyes and their height, there appears to be no other distinction between the two types.

They lack discernible noses but appear to be able to smell as they are shown smelling fruit and being affected by the Fart Gun. They are also depicted as having no ears but being able to hear and respond to sounds.

The majority of Minions are either bald or have a few wispy strands of black hair on their heads. After leaving Switzerland for a new life in America in the late 1960s, their clothing consists of blue overalls with the Gru’s logo, black rubber gloves, shoes, and goggles.

While they are shown to be somewhat absent-minded and to have very mischievous streaks, they also have exceptional engineering abilities, being able to design and construct spaceships and playthings for Gru’s adopted daughters, particularly Agnes.

The 2015 animated feature film Minions demonstrates that they have existed since the beginning of life on Earth. Minions are biologically programmed to seek out and serve the most heinous of villains; when they are unable to serve their “boss,” they become depressed and listless.

They are also shown to have some invulnerability, as Kevin, Stuart, and Bob are able to survive a European torture chamber without suffering any injuries, even while playing with the torture devices.

The Minions are revealed to have an almost uncontrollable craving for fruit, particularly bananas, in the 2010 short film “Banana.”

The Minions’ Elegant Design

They frequently have one or two eyes and almost usually have brown irises (except for Bob, who has one green and one brown eye). There does not appear to be any distinction between the two types other than eye color and number.

Despite the fact that they don’t seem to have noses, they are shown to be able to smell when given a fruit aroma and are affected by the Fart Gun, proving that they can.

In addition to her older sisters Margo and Edith, Agnes Gru is one of Gru and Lucy’s three adopted daughters. She is the youngest and youngest of the three sisters. Evidently, she is a major fan of unicorns based on her appearance.

Agnes’s piercing cries are legendary for shattering windows and billboards. When she yelled so loudly, she shattered Kevin’s goggles so she could have her stuffed unicorn. Agnes is around 4 feet tall by the age of 5 in Despicable Me.
