Instead of killing either of them, the traps kill Michael’s wife, Ava. People soon think it was an accident, but Charlie figures out what happened when she sees Kathleen and the others lying. Michael and Kathleen loved each other and didn’t want Ava around.
They decided to do the show again, but the police already knew what had happened. Kathleen gives a beautiful performance for the last time, after which she turns into the Ghost of Pensacola.
