One of my biggest problems with Stars Fell on Alabama was that the two main characters didn’t have much chemistry. Less time on screen for the main couple doesn’t help much with this issue. Because Bryce and Madison are only in a few scenes, the smaller ones are very important.

Even more so because there is more at stake in this film than in the first. The audience needs to believe in Bryce and Madison as a couple and also that they are ready to take their relationship to the next level, which is marriage. Madison and her leading man don’t get along as well as she does with the bedazzled jean jacket she wears to her sister’s bachelorette party.

We know that the couple will be happy because Bryce tells us about it, not because we see them together on screen. This makes Madison a bit of a part player in her own film.
